There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Heroes (9-11) beat their close opponent Gaiteros (9-10) in Caracas 85-71 on Monday. Heroes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Turkish Alihan Demir (206-1996, college: Minnesota) nailed 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Nathan Priddy (188-1999, college: Elon) came up with 21 points and American-Taiwanese center Dexter Pittman (211-1988, college: Texas) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gaiteros in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Heroes went down to seventh position due to points difference. Gaiteros lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Centauros. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
