There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Toros (3-17) won against higher ranked Heroes (9-11) in Caracas 85-79 on Tuesday. Toros made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Uruguayan Gaston Semiglia (186-1991) nailed 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-2000, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 26 points and 7 rebounds. British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Dominican point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997) added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals respectively for Heroes in the defeat. Five Heroes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toros maintains tenth place with 3-17 record. Loser Heroes dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
