Regular Season Round 27: Panteras - Spartans 76-80

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Spartans (#5) and Panteras (#5). Panteras were defeated at home 76-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Spartans made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Will Davis II (203-1992, college: UC Irvine) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Dominican swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Spartans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) who recorded 30 points and point guard Martin Escobar (185-1988) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spartans (11-8) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guaiqueries. Panteras at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Spartans' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Cocodrilos.
