The game in Margarita was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Brillantes (13-7) played at the court of 5th ranked Centauros (9-11). Brillantes managed to secure a 7-point victory 89-82 on Thursday. Brillantes outrebounded Centauros 46-34 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Glen Rice Jr (198-1991, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Charles Thomas (202-1986, college: Arkansas) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Quade Green (183-1998, college: Washington, agency: Octagon Europe) with 23 points and Spanish-Dominican power forward Jhonatan Araujo (206-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brillantes maintains fourth place with 13-7 record. Loser Centauros dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Gaiteros. Brillantes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas .
