We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Santiago where 4th ranked Luis Matte (1-2) was defeated by fifth ranked Sergio Ceppi (2-2) 73-69 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sergio Ceppi forced 20 Luis Matte turnovers. Strangely Luis Matte outrebounded Sergio Ceppi 44-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Camilo Figueroa (-1995) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Boris Guerra (-1987) chipped in 18 points. Four Sergio Ceppi players scored in double figures. Venezuelan Cristhian Poleo (-1992) produced 8 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks and Franco Garrido (181) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Luis Matte's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sergio Ceppi moved-up to second place, which they share with Aleman. Loser Luis Matte dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Liceo Curico and Municipal C.. Sergio Ceppi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Boston College.
