Regular Season Round 1: Libertadoras - Correcaminos 99-76

Everything went according to plan in Queretaro where Libertadores outleveled Correcaminos 99-76 on Saturday. Libertadores dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 34. They outrebounded Correcaminos 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Italian forward Marzia Tagliamento (183-1996) stepped up and scored 30 points for the winners and Australian guard Madeleine Garrick (180-1992) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Valerie Barriga scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertadores will meet Astros in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Correcaminos will play against Adelitas and hope to win that game.
