Rather predictable result in Caracas where fourth ranked Piratas (14-7) defeated 6th ranked Panteras (11-12) 91-81 on Saturday. Piratas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (190-1992) fired 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Piratas' coach Melvyn Lopez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international swingman Pedro Chourio (186-1990, agency: Pro Sports) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American Elijah Minnie (206-1994, college: EMU) added 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side.
