Regular Season Round 2: Halcones - Fuerza Regia 87-92

Everything went according to plan in Xalapa where Fuerza Regia won against Halcones 92-87 on Saturday. American center Ciera Johnson (190-1997, college: Texas A&M) scored 27 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Alexis Jones (175-1994, college: Baylor) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Fuerza Regia's coach Juan Jose Pidal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian center Quinn Urbaniak-Dornstauder (193-1995, college: Arizona St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American-Nigerian forward Amy Okonkwo (188-1996, college: TCU) scored 24 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halcones will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes and hope to win that game.
