Regular Season Round 11: Santo Andre - Blumenau 77-69

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Blumenau (4-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Santo Andre (7-4) 77-69 on Thursday. Santo Andre outrebounded Blumenau 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Vanessa Goncalves (185-1994) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Juliana Ribeiro (189-1994) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Maria Albiero (173-1998, college: BYU) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and Kawanni Firmino (186-1995) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Santo Andre maintains third place with 7-4 record having just three points less than leader Sesi/Arara. Blumenau at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Catanduva. Santo Andre are looking forward to face league's leader Sesi/Arara. in Araraquara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blumenau will play at home against Catanduva (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
