Regular Season Round 7: Sportiva Ita. - Llolleo 125-31

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sportiva Ita. as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Frontera) loss. Sportiva Ita. smashed bottom-ranked Llolleo in Valparaiso 125-31. Sportiva Ita. held Llolleo to an opponent 20.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Sportiva Ita. forced 41 Llolleo turnovers and outrebounded them 63-33 including a 27-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Llolleo's players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Catalina Roco (164-2006) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Aliosha Hernandez (-2002) accounted for 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five Sportiva Ita. players scored in double figures. Ingrid Carrasco (-1992) came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds and center Valeria Aguilera (-1996) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Llolleo in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Llolleo lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Truenos and Laja. Llolleo will play next round against strong Gimnastico trying to get back on the winning streak. Sportiva Ita. will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked New Crusaders at Valparaíso.
