Regular Season Round 8: Brisas - Tomas L 93-64
Date: May 27, 2023
Everything could happen in Santiago at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Brisas and 6th ranked Tomas L had identical 3-4 record. This time Brisas used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from San Fernando 93-64 on Saturday night. Brisas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tomas L's 30. Brisas forced 23 Tomas L turnovers and had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Josefina Atan (-2005) who scored that evening 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Belen Carreno (-2005) supported her with 14 points and 4 steals. Four Brisas players scored in double figures. Even 16 points by Natalia Navarrete (-1995) did not help to save the game for Tomas L. Forward Daisy Becerra (-1986) added 8 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brisas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Univ.de Chile. Tomas L lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Brisas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Sergio Ceppi.
