Regular Season Round 2: Sayago - Colon 87-89

Very significant was Colon's just 2-point road victory against Sayago 89-87. American guard Jamal Bieniemy (196-1999, college: UTEP) notched 36 points (!!!) and 4 steals to lead the effort and point guard Andres Aristimuno (184-1992) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) did not help to save the game for Sayago. Italian-Argentinian center Damian Tintorelli (205-1981) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Four Sayago players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Colon will play against Welcome in Montevideo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sayago will play on the road against Atenas in Montevideo to get more than just one victory in their record.
