Everything went according to plan in Jalisco where fourth ranked Astros (9-3) won against 6th ranked Fuerza Regia (6-6) 77-63 on Friday. It was a great evening for American guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-1995, college: Texas) who led her team to a victory scoring 31 points and 4 assists. Her fellow American import forward Joy Adams (180-1993, college: Iona) helped adding 5 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side American guard Destiny Pitts (178, college: Texas A&M) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Brazilian forward Damiris Dantas (191-1992) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Fuerza Regia's coach Juan Jose Pidal let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Astros. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Adelitas. Loser Fuerza Regia keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Astros will meet at home bottom-ranked Freseras (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fuerza Regia will play against the league's leader Libertadores (#1) in Queretaro and hope to secure a win.
