Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Puente Alto (#3) and Univ.de Chile (#4). Puente Alto (9-3) won against visiting Univ.de Chile (5-7) 77-63. Puente Alto forced 21 Univ.de Chile turnovers. The former international forward Marisol Gamboa (178-1985) nailed 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Argentinian power forward Camila Peri (182-2000) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds. Carolina Morales (-2003) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivannia Saavedra (-2001) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Univ.de Chile in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Puente Alto. They maintain third place with 9-3 record having just two points less than leader Univ.Concepcion. Univ.de Chile at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Puente Alto will play against Rancagua (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Univ.de Chile will play against Tomas L (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
