The most exciting game of round 9 in the ABBA took place in . This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Flyers (7-4) to eighth ranked Spanish Heat (2-10) 66-64 on Saturday evening. Spanish Heat forced 30 Flyers turnovers. Strangely Flyers outrebounded Spanish Heat 62-48 including 22 on the offensive glass. Israel Pulinario stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 22 rebounds for the winners and Steven Matthew chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Spanish Heat players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Selassie Brathwaite with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Jabari Williams (211-2002, college: Indian River) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Spanish Heat moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Slam and Braves. Flyers at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. Spanish Heat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Flyers will play against Slam (#7) and are hoping to win this game.
