The game between second ranked Panteras (14-4) and 10th ranked Abejas (2-16) in Aguascalientes on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Panteras outscored guests from Leon 102-69. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Abejas' players. It was a quality performance for Latvian center Kristine Vitola (196-1991, college: UTEP) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. American forward Samantha Fuehring (191, college: Louisville) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Point guard Dana Soto (167-1997) came up with 11 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and American center Rachel Hollivay (196-1993, college: Rutgers) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Abejas in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras maintains second place with 14-4 record behind leader Adelitas, which they share with Astros. Abejas lost their tenth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. Panteras will again meet at home bottom-ranked Abejas (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abejas will have a break next round.
