The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin and 25 de Agosto. 25 de Agosto was defeated at home 71-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Malvin made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 25 de Agosto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by 25 de Agosto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Florencia Somma (175-1988) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-1999) responded with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Rossana Dagnino (175-1989) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Yale.
