No shocking result in a game in Las Piedras where Lagomar smashed Juventud 73-35 on Saturday. Lagomar held Juventud to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 30 Juventud turnovers and outrebounded them 53-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Selena Medrik (177-1992) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-1998) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Lagomar players scored in double figures. Forward Karina Acosta (-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ivana Presa (-1986) scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lagomar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Urunday.
