Regular Season Round 14: Tabare - Olimpia 79-62

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Tabare (8-3) defeated at home second-ranked Olimpia (8-3) 79-62 on Saturday. Nigerian power forward Prince Orizu (208-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Octavio Medina (195-1996) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Olimpia. His fellow American import center Ricardo Glenn (203-1990, college: USC Upstate, agency: Interperformances) added 6 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tabare have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Olimpia. Tabare will meet Verdirrojo (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olimpia will play against Colon (#12) and hope to secure a win.
