Very expected game in Montevideo where 12th ranked Colon (5-7) was rolled over by third ranked Olimpia (9-3) 86-66 on Friday. Olimpia outrebounded Colon 43-24 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American center Ricardo Glenn (203-1990, college: USC Upstate, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Santiago Fernandez (186-2000) helped adding 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Olimpia players scored in double figures. Olimpia's coach Daniel Lovera let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Quinterian McConico (203-1995, college: AAMU) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Andres Aristimuno (184-1992) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Olimpia moved-up to second place. Loser Colon dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with O.Mundial. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Atenas.
