Second Stage Round 3: Larranaga - Urunday 79-108
Date: August 24, 2023
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Urunday (#1) and Larranaga (#3). Larranaga was crushed at home by 29 points 79-108 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Larranaga. Urunday made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Demian Alvarez (193-1984, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Urunday players scored in double figures. Naturalized Italian Nicolas Borsellino (202-1986, agency: Pro Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Maximiliano Nobile (181-1997) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Larranaga. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
