An interesting game was also tough home defeat of Plateros in a game in Fresnillo versus Abejas 82-67. Abejas forced 21 Plateros turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) notched 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 8 rebounds by Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) did not help to save the game for Plateros. Puerto Rican-American guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) added 17 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Abejas will meet at home Correcaminos in the next round. Plateros will play against Halcones UV Xalapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
