Regular Season Round 6: Felix Perez - San Jose 76-99
Date: August 30, 2023
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#2) and Felix Perez (#4). Felix Perez was smashed at home by 23 points 76-99 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Felix Perez. San Jose forced 20 Felix Perez turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Felix Perez's players. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-1987) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four San Jose players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Leandro Ferreira (184-1994) with 21 points and 6 assists and the former international swingman Jose Rolon (193-2000) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (5-1) keeps a position of league leader. Loser Felix Perez dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Colonias.
