Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Olimpia (#2) and Capitol (#5). Olimpia (14-6) won against visiting Capitol (11-9) 86-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitol. Olimpia forced 19 Capitol turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Ricardo Glenn (203-1990, college: USC Upstate, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) chipped in 25 points. Point guard Mateo Giano (186-2000) produced 18 points and 9 assists and Argentinian Nahuel Amichetti (202-1998) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olimpia maintains second place with 14-6 record having just three point less than leader Urunday. Loser Capitol keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Olimpia's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Urunday.
