Important game to mention about took place in Xalapa. Halcones UV Xalapa (3-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Plateros (1-4) 100-97 on Friday evening. Halcones UV Xalapa made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) who led the winners and scored 25 points. American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) added 19 points and 8 assists respectively for Plateros in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Correcaminos (#7) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Plateros will play at home against Mineros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
