Regular Season Round 3: Jaguares - Tipitapa 80-73

There was no surprise in Managua where Tipitapa (1-4) was defeated by Jaguares (5-0) 80-73 on Friday. Jaguares made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Jessica Fairweather (180-1990, college: Queens, NY) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Her fellow American import swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) helped adding 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Clenia Salazar (-1987) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Tipitapa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jaguares will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tipitapa will play against Leonas (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
