Regular Season Round 3: UNI - Leonas 56-40

The game between Leonas (1-4) and UNI (2-3) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Leonas were defeated by UNI on the road 56-40. UNI forced 36 Leonas turnovers and had a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 9 steals. Forward Jahzury Anderson (-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Leisha Hodgson (180-2007) who recorded 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Scharllette Allen (-1991) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UNI are looking forward to face Real Esteli in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leonas will play against Tipitapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
