Regular Season Round 3: Freseras - Panteras 93-99

There was no surprise in Irapuato where Freseras (0-6) were defeated by Panteras (3-3) 99-93 on Friday. Panteras shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Gary Ricks (185-1991, college: Drake) who scored 22 points. His fellow American import forward Brock Gardner (201-1997, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Gardner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Jamaican forward Joel James (208-1994, college: UNC) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Freseras will play against Astros (#2) in Guadalajara and look forward to get finally their first victory.
