Regular Season Round 13: Indigenas - Leones 92-104

Date: September 14, 2023
Leader Leones delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Indigenas (2-9) 104-92 in Matagalpa. They outrebounded Indigenas 56-26 including a 35-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Indigenas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Josmel Martinez (198-1999, college: Broward CC) contributed with 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Leones players scored in double figures. American guard Tylan Dean (185-1999, college: Rogers St.) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the other American import guard Chris Moten-Jackson (190-1989, college: LA Pierce JC) added 31 points in the effort for Indigenas. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leones (9-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Indigenas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Indigenas will play against UNI Basket (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
