Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Sao Paulo and Paulistano. Paulistano was defeated at home 78-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paulistano. Sao Paulo made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Forward Lucas Siewert (208-1997, college: Colorado) stepped up and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Malcolm Miller (201-1991, college: Southern) chipped in 19 points. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (192-1993, college: Dartmouth) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and power forward Alex Doria (205-1997, college: St.Edward's) scored 12 points. Paulistano's coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Paulo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Paulistano's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo Pinheiros.
