The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua: Leones (#1) and Jaguares (#6). Leones (10-2) won against visiting Jaguares (7-6) 96-85. Leones made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Jaguares turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Josmel Martinez (198-1999, college: Broward CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) helped adding 30 points and 5 rebounds. Leones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Puerto Rican power forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (209-1990, college: UNLV) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Kaleb Myers (-2004) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leones have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Jaguares at the other side keep the sixth position with six games lost.
