Very important is a home loss of third ranked Leon (8-5) against fifth ranked Real Esteli (8-3) on Thursday night. Host Leon was defeated by Real Esteli in a tough game at home 73-80. Real Esteli players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Puerto Rican Christopher Gaston (201-1989, college: Fordham) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Christopher Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) accounted for 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Four Real Esteli players scored in double figures. Dominican Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) came up with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Deikel Sanchez (-1996) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Leon in the defeat. Real Esteli moved-up to third place. Leon lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Real Esteli will play against league's second-placed Brumas in Jinotega in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leon will have a break next round.
