Leader Jaguares delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked UNI (2-10) 71-63. Jaguares forced 19 UNI turnovers. It was a good game for Lean Williams who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. American swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Jaguares players scored in double figures. Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) replied with 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals and Sharen Sambola (185-2006) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for UNI. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares maintains first position with 9-3 record. UNI lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Jaguares will play against Tipitapa (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UNI will play against Leonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
