Regular Season Round 7: Panteras - Soles 100-72
Date: September 23, 2023
Not a big story in a game in Aguascalientes where 6th ranked Soles (4-10) were outplayed by second ranked Panteras (8-6) 100-72 on Saturday. Panteras shot 61.5 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Jaron Martin (178-1995, college: UC Irvine) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Panteras players scored in double figures. At the losing side Panamanian-American center Javier Carter (203-1991, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Adonte Parker (186-1989, college: Dayton) scored 19 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Panteras. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Libertadores and Dorados. Loser Soles keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Panteras will meet Plateros (#5) in the next round. Soles will play against the league's second-placed Astros and hope to secure a win.
