Very important is a home loss of Uriona (2-1) against Univ. San Simon (1-1) on Sunday night. Host Uriona was crushed by Univ. San Simon in 100-53. Univ. San Simon dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Uriona's 26. Univ. San Simon forced 24 Uriona turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Marcela Viscarra (169-1990) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 23 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Erika Tapia (160-2000) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Five Univ. San Simon players scored in double figures. Betcy Campos came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Estefany Copa added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Uriona in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ. San Simon will play against Potosi Mun. (#9) in the next round. Uriona will play against Aleman (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
