Regular Season Round 7: Dorados - Correcaminos 106-97

There was no surprise in Chihuahua where 7th ranked Correcaminos (1-13) were defeated by third ranked Dorados (8-6) 106-97 on Sunday. Dorados shot 61.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 61.3 percentage. Dorados looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Jett Speelman (201-1994, college: Denison) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Brazilian center Joao Franca (215-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Ismael Cruz (190-2001, college: Indian Hills) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Four Dorados and five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Correcaminos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dorados. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Libertadores and Panteras. Correcaminos lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Freseras. Dorados will meet league's second-placed Libertadores in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Correcaminos will play against Freseras (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
