No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Brumas (11-4) crushed on the road 9th ranked Rivas (2-12) 96-54 on Saturday. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Rivas' 34. Brumas forced 26 Rivas turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 35 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Rivas' players. The former international Dalton Cacho (200-1993) nailed 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Brumas players scored in double figures. American Rashad Jackson (191, college: Portland) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Brad Soldevila added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Rivas in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brumas moved-up to second place, which they share with Caribbean Coast. Rivas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Tigres.
