Regular Season Round 6: Corsarios - Titanes 90-98

Undefeated leader Titanes delivered the seventh consecutive win on Wednesday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Corsarios (2-5) 98-90 in Cartagena. Strangely Corsarios outrebounded Titanes 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Spanish-Venezuelan swingman Jhornan Zamora (196-1989) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican forward Wilfredo Rodriguez (198-1994, college: Binghamton) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Montrell Little (198-1996, college: Simmons Coll.) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Titanes (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Corsarios lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Cimarrones. Titanes are looking forward to face Motilones (#6) in Cucuta in the next round where they are favorite. Corsarios will play on the road against Piratas in Bogota and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
