No shocking result in a game in Quibdo-Choco where third ranked Team Cali (5-2) defeated 10th ranked Cimarrones (2-5) 83-70 on Thursday. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Puerto Rican guard Brian Vazquez (190-1994) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Four Team Cali players scored in double figures. Team Cali's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan point guard Leonardo Palacios (186-1994) with 24 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Mike Poole (196-1992, college: Iona) scored 17 points. Team Cali have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Team Cali went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Piratas. Loser Cimarrones dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Corsarios. Team Cali will meet at home league's second-placed Cafeteros in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Cimarrones will play against Sabios (#11) and hope to secure a win.
