No shocking result in a game in San Luis Potosi where second ranked Santos (10-8) outleveled 5th ranked Halcones Rojos (8-10) 99-80 on Thursday. Santos made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Quade Green (183-1998, college: Washington, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Five Santos and four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Santos went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Halcones Rojos keep the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Mineros. Santos will meet Mineros (#6) in the next round. Halcones Rojos will play against Soles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
