The most exciting game of round 8 in the LNBP took place in Mexicali. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Astros (12-6) to sixth ranked Soles (5-13) 99-96 on Thursday evening. Soles outrebounded Astros 32-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Donte Clark who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American Hollis Thompson (203-1991, college: Georgetown) who added 25 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American guard Jeff Ledbetter (191-1988, college: Idaho, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 16 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) scored 15 points. Five Astros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Soles maintains sixth position with 5-13 record. Astros lost third consecutive game. Defending champion still keep top place with six games lost. They share the position with Libertadores. Soles are looking forward to face higher ranked Halcones Rojos (#5) in Veracruz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Astros will play at home against Plateros (#4) and are hoping to win this game.
