There was no surprise in Zacatecas where 6th ranked Mineros (9-11) were defeated by first ranked Fuerza Regia (15-5) 94-90 on Thursday. Fuerza Regia made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Power forward Jerai Grant (203-1989, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Walter Lemon Jr (191-1992, college: Bradley) added 14 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Five Fuerza Regia and four Mineros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fuerza Regia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-5 record, which they share with Abejas. Loser Mineros dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros will play against Dorados (#5) in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
