Regular Season Round 10: Santos - Soles 85-60
Date: October 13, 2023
Not a big story in a game in San Luis Potosi where 6th ranked Soles (5-15) were rolled over by third ranked Santos (12-8) 85-60 on Friday. Santos had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Santos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Puerto Rican point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) fired 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Puerto Rican power forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Santos players scored in double figures. American Hollis Thompson (203-1991, college: Georgetown) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and Dominican Donte Clark added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santos moved-up to second place, which they share with Halc.Xalapa. Soles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Santos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Soles will play against Plateros (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
