Very expected game in Guanajuato where 7th ranked Freseras (3-17) were crushed by second ranked Abejas (15-5) 102-76 on Friday. Abejas looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Freseras' players. American forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) fired 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Worth to mention Elsener played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-1991) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Markel Crawford (196-1994, college: Ole Miss) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Abejas keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Freseras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Abejas will meet Panteras (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Freseras will play against Halcones UV Xalapa (#4) and hope to secure a win.
