We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Monterrey where second ranked Santos (13-10) beat leader Fuerza Regia (16-7) 87-79 on Monday. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Rakeem Christmas (206-1991, college: Syracuse) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. American Shonn Miller (201-1993, college: UConn) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Santos went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Fuerza Regia dropped to the second place with seven games lost. Santos will meet at home league's second-placed Plateros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fuerza Regia will play against Dorados and hope to secure a win.
