An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aguascalientes. Third ranked Panteras faced second-ranked Abejas. Host Panteras (13-11) defeated guests from Guanajuato (17-7) 92-82. Panteras made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 assists. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-1992) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Puerto Rican guard Joseph Soto (190-1993) scored 17 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Panteras and four Abejas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Panteras went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Abejas still keep top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Libertadores. Panteras will meet Halcones UV Xalapa (#4) on the road in the next round. Abejas will play against Astros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
