Everything went according to plan in Veracruz where fifth ranked Halcones Rojos (10-14) outleveled 7th ranked Correcaminos (1-22) 118-92 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Correcaminos 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Halcones Rojos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Correcaminos' players. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Michael Henry (198-1995, college: Buffalo St., agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) helped adding 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Guard Jeff Early Jr (190-1988, college: SIU) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and forward Vance Johnson (204-1997, college: Milwaukee) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Despite that victory Halcones Rojos went down to sixth position due to points difference. Correcaminos lost nineteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 22 games lost. Halcones Rojos will meet league's leader Libertadores in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Correcaminos will play against Soles (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
