An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aguascalientes. Third ranked Panteras faced second-ranked Abejas. Host Panteras (13-11) defeated guests from Guanajuato (17-7) 96-82. Panteras players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-1992) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Tomas Nuno (196, college: CMU) added 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Abejas. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Panteras went down to fourth position due to points difference. Abejas at the other side still keep top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Libertadores. Panteras will play against Halcones UV Xalapa (#4) on the road in the next round. Abejas will play against Astros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
