There was a minor upset in Mexicali where 4th placed Plateros (14-10) were defeated by sixth ranked Soles (7-16) 87-76 on Tuesday. It was a great evening for international point guard Victor Alvarez (183-1996) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). The former international guard Luke Martinez (190-1990, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Soles players scored in double figures. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Soles maintains sixth place with 7-16 record. Loser Plateros dropped to the second position with ten games lost. Soles will meet Correcaminos (#7) in the next round. Plateros will play against Santos (#3) in San Luis Potosi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
