The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Soles' (7-16) road victory over 7th ranked Correcaminos (1-22) in Ciudad Victoria 80-73 on Friday. The winners were led by American Hollis Thompson (203-1991, college: Georgetown) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Luke Martinez (190-1990, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Soles' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 38 points (!!!) and 4 steals by American guard Jeff Early Jr (190-1988, college: SIU) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. His fellow American import forward Vance Johnson (204-1997, college: Milwaukee) added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Soles maintains sixth position with 7-16 record. Correcaminos lost nineteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 22 games lost. Soles will meet at home league's leader Libertadores in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Correcaminos will play against the league's second-placed Plateros (#2) in Fresnillo and hope to win that game.
